Oh Ella!

Over the past few weeks for some reason most of the shows/movies I have been viewing have shown someone crying. Not because they are sad but tears of joy. Ella always asks me why the person is sad and I go onto to explain to her that the person is crying because they are happy, they are crying happy tears, not sad. She always gives me a weird look and then shrugs and goes about her business.

Well, that brings us to today. We went to the mall for Mom's Club. Of course already being at the mall I had to do some shopping! I bought Ella some flip flops, which she LOVED! Well, after a few stores I got my cue from Ryder that it was time to go home for naps. By cue, I mean screaming non-stop no matter what drink or snack I gave him. Oh by the way, this was my first trip out with all three rascals. You can just imagine me pushing my stroller with a baby, a toddler (screaming) and a sassy gal hanging on. Anyway, I made it out to the car. Successfully loaded up all the kids and was finally on my way home! Then I hear Ella complaining from the back how her flip flop fell off and that she wanted it. I told her that I was driving and that she would have to wait to get home. She felt the need to ignore me and keep crying/nagging me about this flip flop. After telling her over and over and OVER that we would get it when we got home she just kept crying and being "ugly." So I then tell her that I am taking them back to the store and another mommy can give them to her little girl if she doesn't stop crying NOW! She then immediately without delay stops the crying and in her little innocent voice tells me that these are happy tears and that she loves her flip flops!!!

That was cute. As usual!:) You know, most women haven't gone back to work yet, much less hauled three little kids to the mall (aka maul) alone! You were very brave!

Hey, Katie, Sunday Jason brought in both the older kids and they were both sobbing. Turns out that poor Ella fell in the church parking lot and really scratched up her little knee and palm. Her teachers weren't in their room yet, so I had her come over to my room. As snuggled her up on my lap, I tried and tried to get her to put a band-aid on her knee. She kept telling me no, she didn't need one and finally, Ella lifts her sweet little head off my shoulder and in a sniffly little voice she tells me "I'm too tough for a band-aid." So funny. Too tough for a band-aid, but can't walk on that bad knee! Ella cracks me up.
