Hello from Woodward.

We came down for a baby shower and birthday party! And once again Annie and I will be making the trip home with us against the 6 kids in the back of the van. Please say a little prayer!;)

Last Friday morning, before we headed to Woodward, I went to get Ryder out of bed and found him playing in the room. He had crawled out of his crib! OH NO, my little guy is now going to be a pain when getting him to bed! The one thing he always did amazing was going to bed. Always laid right down and went to sleep. Well, the first night in Woodward he stay with his Nana Lisa and she tried over and over to put him to bed and he would just pop right out. She couldn't get him to go to sleep until 1 am! Needless to say I was not looking forward to the next night or even nap time. So nap time came and I put him in the pac-n-play. He jumped right out as soon as I left the room. So I spanked his little bottom and placed him back in. He was not happy but didn't like the spanking. Well, it worked because he stayed in the pac-n-play until nap time was over. I thought, good this won't be too bad. So last night I went to put him to sleep. He laid down great and I was telling him night, night and patting him. He then told me to go, go. I was thinking, well, he must want to go to sleep. I left and waited outside the room to listen to the thud of the stinker escaping but heard nothing. So I went back to the living room to visit with my mom and sister. About 10 minutes later. I hear a funny little voice coming from the stairs and there pops Ryder telling me "ball, momma." He was holding a ball and came bouncing into the living room with a big smile on his face. So much for me thinking he wanted to go to sleep. I took him back down stairs, firmly placing him in bed and using my very serious mother voice. "DO NOT GET OUT OF BED! NIGHT, NIGHT!" I left the room waited for the the escape and then I heard it. I opened the door fast and furious, he took one glance at me and tried to do his best to get back into bed! He didn't' get out again.

He really hasn't done too bad. He tries to escape a few times but then realizes mom is waiting to put him back and gives up. He hasn't tried to leave in the middle of the night yet and waits for me until I get him in the morning. So I am sure I'll be having to move him to a big boy bed soon!
And what's a post without pics. The new escape artist!

Silly boy! Guess he's destined to be an adventure seeker.
Tyler was always crawling out of his bed too. Ashlee was content to stay in bed (some things never change)until we went and got her. She was so little we actually kept her in her baby bed until she was almost four.
