Header Info

Ok, so a lot of people have questioned me about my new header. How did you do it? Was it hard? Did you have help? Well, I just thought I would tell you the story behind it. Most saw my header before this one. I was pregnant and holding Ry with Ella on my shoulders. I needed to update it since the little Prince was now out of the belly! So the other day I decided this was the day. The sun was shining nice and bright so I knew I had good light! I took the pic in front of our mirror in our entry way and just opened the front door for some light. So now to the game plan. I knew that once I had Brock in the sling and Ryder on my hip that I could not bend down to get Ella. I would never have been able to stand back up. So I opened the front door to meter my camera with the light. Forgetting to shut it while I got Brock in the sling, Ryder sees an opening and he is gone. Ella goes running after him. As I notice that Ryder is out the door following by his sister yelling for him "GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!" I go after him with Brock strapped to me. Man, Ryder is a quick one. He was down by the road and in a full run, laughing hysterically as I chase in down the street trying to hold Brock from swinging back and forth. Oh and Ella is YELLING " Ryder PLEASE come back!" I finally catch him. Haul him back to the house. I am way out of breath and sweating. Lovely. Ok, now lets take the pic. I have Ryder on one side trying to wiggle free and I tell Ella to climb on the back of the couch so she can then climb on to my shoulders. Poor little Brock was not sure what was going on. So I have all the kids in place. I have to act fast. I don't know how long this in shape body :) will hold all this weight. Click, click. Got some pics. I didn't even care what their faces looked like. We were at least all in the picture and I was still standing. I guess the pic best represents my life right now!!!!!

Katie, I think your header is adorable and totally love the story behind it. I read it to Rick and he's impressed with your creativity. The expressions on Ella's face are precious and who would have known that cute little Ryder had just nearly executed an escape.

After seeing the bike photo on your moms blog and these new pics, I think you may have missed your true calling - circus performer!

I love the header. I think you should make Annie do the same thing with her kids - or maybe you could just add them to your back? You sure can capture great expressions in your photos. I'm impressed.
