Mia Kate

She is three and half weeks old and I am finally getting around to posting about her on my blog! So she is here and loved by many. She has been fought over many of times by a sibling or cousin on wanting to hold her. She is very much a hit when it comes to the little ones.

So let's start with her birth story. We had to get to the hospital at 5:00 am. This being my fourth labor I thought I would go fast since I was in labor for a total of 4 hours with Brock. Well, I was WRONG. Since I was only 37 weeks and I was being induced due to Mia's kidney issue my body wasn't ready it took much longer than I thought. And to make it more pleasant, epidurals make me nauseated so I got sick the entire time I was laboring. When I was finally ready for the delivery it happened really fast. Thank goodness. I remember seeing her for the first time and noticing that she had the "cheeks" just like my others. I was in love yet again. What a little miracle. So next, was the big question of how much she weighed. She came in at 7 lbs 2 ozs. My doctor said good thing we had her 3 weeks early because she would have been right up there with her brothers.

So she arrived safely and I made it through my last delivery.:) The next day, they did an ultrasound on her kidney and it showed up the same as it did when I was pregnant. So we made an appointment with the specialist. They were in no hurry because her other kidney was working perfectly.

A couple of days of quiet hospital stay and we headed home to a house full of very excited kids and noise. I didn't really have to deal with all fours kids right away. My mom stayed for a week and did everything. And I mean everything. My house was always picked up, laundry was done and dinner every night. I tried to get her full time but it didn't work out. I have the best Mom!
She then took the boys home for a week after that. So it was two weeks later before dealing with all four on my own.

In a couple of days she'll be a month old. Crazy! I am doing all I can to slow time down and enjoy every moment because this is my last baby. She is our little living doll. We love her dearly! This is our Mia Katie.
